Another fantastic Yummy Mummy Week!
This
year’s National Yummy Mummy Week, sponsored by Foresters, has been
a huge success.
With over 1,200 events being organised
by women across the UK and over 57,000 people in total taking part,
it was Yummy Mummy-crazy during the week of 20th –
28th September raising over £300,000 for CLIC
Sargent to date.
A great event that took place during Yummy
Mummy Week was the Sunderland Abseil, sponsored by the Hadrian’s
Branch of Foresters. Everyone taking part in the 40ft abseil from
the Sunderland Glass Centre had a fantastic time and the sun even
came out to shine on all the brave participants! Money continues to
come in and the event looks likely to raise nearly £4,000.
In London & Southern region, Acorns Branch
held a delicious fundraising lunch in aid of Yummy Mummy and
raised £135.50 for CLIC Sargent. Staff were able to enjoy
baguettes, salads, three types of homemade coleslaw (courtesy of
Sylvia Goodfellow's husband Brian!), crisps, and a Krispy Kreme
Doughnut!
Redland Tor Branch members supported a Yummy
Mummy “Girls night in” cinema event in Exeter; an all night movie
marathon where Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman and Top Gun were shown
during the movie extravaganza, which took place from 11pm and ended
at dawn.
CLIC Sargent and
the Yummy Mummy team would like to say a big THANK YOU to Foresters
and its members for all their support in helping to make Yummy
Mummy Week another great event.
