Foresters donates $50,000 to Médecins Sans
Frontières to aid Haiti relief efforts
In the wake of this week’s devastating
earthquake in Haiti, ForestersTM, is donating $50,000 (Canadian dollars which is equal
to approx £30,000) to Médecins Sans Frontières to help
support their disaster relief efforts.
“We are shocked and saddened by the tragic
event in Haiti and offer our deepest condolences to all Haitians,”
said Foresters President and CEO, George Mohacsi. “Foresters has a
long tradition of mutual aid and a deep commitment to the
well-being of families and communities. Through our support of the
Médecins Sans Frontières relief efforts, Foresters hopes to provide
compassionate medical help to families and communities in
Haiti.”
Medécins Sans Frontières is the world’s
leading independent humanitarian medical relief organisation
providing emergency medical care to populations in need without
discrimination based on race, religion, philosophy or politics. The
organisation follows medical ethics by offering neutral and
impartial help, and maintains complete independence from any
political, religious or economic power.
Medécins Sans Frontières has been onsite in
Haiti for many years.
