Knit One, Pearl One!
If you’re a dab hand with the knitting needles, perhaps
you’d help us by knitting some premature baby clothes for local
maternity units – bootees, hats etc – some patterns are available
to borrow if needed. For more information please call Zenna Leech
on 01242 694213.
APPEAL FOR WOOL
If you have any spare balls of 3 or 4 ply
baby wool, please let us know – we would be very grateful to
receive any donations.
Stampede
Each year we raise money
for Save the Children (Charity No. 213890) by collecting used
postage stamps.
If you think can help by sending us
yours we would be delighted - Please telephone John Leech on 01242
694213.
The Floods of 2007
I was delighted to present a Certificate of Recognition to
Zenna & John Leech to show our appreciation for all their hard
work on behalf of Foresters during July & August last year when
Gloucestershire was so badly affected by flooding.
They provided much needed help and comfort
to the many members who were involved, taking cleaning materials
and food vouchers to help alleviate the situation.
Thank you for showing our members the true
value of being a Forester.

President
Branch Charity
Our nominated charity for
2008 is the Leckhampton Court run by
the Sue Ryder Foundation (Registered Charity number 1052076).
Leckhampton Court operates as a Hospice
caring for those people who may have cancer, HIV/AIDS or other
conditions requiring palliative care.
The Sue Ryder Foundation acquired the
14th Century house and grounds in 1977, and
the beautiful building with its years of history and exceptionally
tranquil and dignified air is now offering a home to many local
people.
Care is available free of charge to all, regardless of religion,
culture or social background.
