Bournemouth Male Voice Choir

An evening of light and popular music from The Bournemouth Male Voice Choir.  Funds being raised for "Tender Loving Care” - a locally based charity that purchases life changing mobility equipment for children with special needs.

Family Skittles Evening with Ploughman’s Supper

 

Bowling15 November 2008, 7.00pm

Frampton Arms, adjacent to Moreton Station Near Crossways, on the B3390 road.  Members: Adults £2.50, Children under 16 Free / Guests: £6

 

This is a family event; children take part within the teams. Prizes for the highest scoring child, lady and gent.  The supper will be the Frampton Arms magnificent ploughman’s, please notify when booking whether ham, cheese or ham and cheese.

 

Raffle will be held for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

St Andrews Night Supper Dance

 

Adult party29 November 2008, 7pm to midnight

Riviera Hotel, Bowleaze Cove, Weymouth

Members: £12.50 / Guests: £25.00

 

A night with a Scottish theme and menu and the versatile Gordon Bennett will again be playing for us.  Accommodation may be available for those that might wish to stay the night please contact Pauline re this.

Homemade Leek and Potato Soup or

Chef’s Pate on Melba Toast

Haggis with Neeps and Tatties

Fillet of Salmon in herb butter dressing or

Whole Breast of Chicken in cream of mushroom sauce

Charity Burns Night Dinner

 

Black Tie danceSaturday 24 January 20009, 7.00pm for 7.30pm

Venue on Portland (tbc)

Members & Guests £17.50 (Evening Dress/Black Tie)

 

With the help of a Community Fund Grant Linden Lea Branch is sponsoring the forthcoming Burns Night to raise funds for the Weymouth & Portland Friends of Chernobyl Children. 

 

 It is hoped that by our sponsoring the event the full amount required for airfares for the 2009 visit of a group of children from Belarus will be raised at that function.

 

Burns Night will commence with a welcome from the Chairman followed by the Haggis being paraded through the assembled company preceded by a piper.  It is then placed on the top table where it is addressed.  A Poet’s Grace will be recited before dinner is taken.

Menu to be confirmed:

 

Cock-a-leekie Soup Roll & butter.

Haggis, Roast Beef, Chappit Tatties & Neeps

Cranachan served with shortbread

Cheese & Biscuits

Coffee

 

Wine by the bottle will be available to purchase at extra cost.  Dinner will be followed by the customary toasts  to The Lasses. Reply on behalf of The Lasses and The Immortal Memory.

 

There will be a raffle and other fund raising events.  The evening will probably close with a Ceilidh. This is a black tie function with ladies in evening gowns.

Holiday on Ice, “Mystery, Discover the Magic”

 

Ice skates22 February 2009, 4.15pm performance

Westpoint, Exeter

Members; £14.00, under 16's £7.00 / Guests £24.00, under 16's £10.00

 

A great show for all the family.  We have booked 30 tickets at £24 at present.  Early booking is advised and last bookings by 8 November.  More seats will be booked if required but subject to being available for the performance.  Coach times and routing to be announce later subject to bookings.

 

A raffle will be held on the coach raising funds for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
