Summer Outing to Whipsnade Wildlife Park

 

GiraffeOn 13 July we enjoyed a member's family day out at Whipsnade Wildlife Park.

 

We were blessed with a lovely dry day to explore the wild life park with Whipsnade grouptoo much to see and do, the children were all tired out on the way home.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

Birch Copse School Fete

 

In June, Greyfriars Branch sponsored the Birch Copse School Fete, which provided lots of family fun and games, successfully raising over £3,500.  This money will be used to improve facilities for the children at the school.

 


 

Malvern Spring Show - 11 May 2008

22 people attended this event on a Glorious Sunny Day.  We

arrived just after 10 am and spent 7 hours exploring this show – plenty of plants were loaded onto the coach for the return journey, it was an enjoyable if tiring day. But there was plenty of paces to sit and eat & drink.

Branch Charity Success

 

Muscular dystrophy logoWe have ended the year with a donation to the local Muscular Dystrophy Group of £1,100. This means that over the 2 years we have supported the group they have received £3,100.  Well done to all of you who have helped us to raise this money for such a worthy cause.

 

One of the fundraisers was the Quiz and I am please to say there was one outright winner - well done, Mrs Loader - a local member who received the £50.00 prize.

 


Bringing in the New Year!

 

Cheque presentation98 people attended a New Years Celebration Dinner at Sonning Golf Club on 12th January 2008 to enjoy a Steak meal followed by entertainment with Nigel Edge, The dance floor was full all evening and the evening finished with Auld Lang sine

 

The picture shows Diana Parratt R.C presenting cheque to Peter and Jane O’Sullivan from the Local Muscular Dystrophy group for £1109.
