Welcome to Members of Eastern Point.
Another year nearly over and what a year it
has been for the Branch – WOW!!
As mentioned in my previous message the
Branch sent 7 delegates to the London & Southern England
Quadrennial Weekend in September and could not believe the success
we had.
Firstly, may I congratulate Alison Kinder on
becoming the first Member of Eastern Point to be voted onto the
Regional Council (previously known as the High Court). The Branch
wishes her well in this.
Secondly, you may have read in the press
that the Branch came away with no less than SIX awards, our best
year ever and what a year to do it in being our anniversary one. We
gained the accolade of being voted the best all round Branch in our
region and also came second nationally. We also won the
regional award for collecting the most foil, but more importantly
won the award for the collecting the most nationally. Our final two
awards were for the best PRLO coverage – the first for best PRLO
coverage regionally for 2007, but the second for the best PRLO
coverage between 2004–2008, even though we have only been in the
region since September 2006. For these PRLO awards may I
offer the Branches congratulations to Richard Morling, without whom
this would not have been possible.
Well it now brings me to wish one and all a
very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from everybody at the
Branch. Please try to come along to some of the events,
especially the Anniversary Dance in July, which promises to be
something very special.
