Successes
Yummy Mummy Lunch - in aid of CLIC Sargent
As part of Foresters national sponsorship of Yummy Mummy Week
2008, staff at UKHQ enjoyed a lunch on Friday 26 September and
raised £135.50 for CLIC Sargent.
Staff were able to enjoy baguettes, salads, three types of
homemade coleslaw (courtesy of Sylvia Goodfellow's husband Brian!),
crisps, and a Krispy Kreme Doughnut all washed down with
a glass of Bucks Fizz!
Special thanks to Santina Difolco and Sylvia Goodfellow who
worked really hard making up all the food and decorating the
'Yummy Mummy' room and also to Derrick Dowling who organised the
donation of all the food and drink with the Bromley branch of
Waitrose.
Also, thanks to all the staff that joined in to make the day a
success which included Lynn Haight, Chief Financial Officer and
Chief Membership Officer and her husband Jim, who are in
the UK for the Regional Assemblies.
Foresters Pool Competition
Congratulations to Derrick Dowling who beat last years Champion
Jason Rose 3-2 in a thrilling final of the Foresters Annual Pool
Competition.
Thank you to all who entered along with the supporters.
We raised £163.30 for CLIC Sargent.
Also, special thanks to Paul Jones, manager of The Tigers Head
who donated all the food, pool money and addtional prizes.
Adidas 5k Womens Challenge
On Sunday 7th September a team of 12
ladies took part in the Adidas 5K Women's Challenge at Hyde
Park. Despite very grey skies the rain did hold off during
the event and everyone completed the challenge dry and without
injury.
Congratulations to Janet Lindow who
managed to run most of the way in about 35 minutes while the rest
of us walked! Huge thanks to the team for making the fabulous
effort that made it so much fun to take part in this
event.
Thanks also to the many people who
sponsored the team, the total amount raised for CLIC Sargent will
be announced as soon as it has all been collected.
