Foresters Ben Nevis Climb 2009
On the 16th May 2009 a group of
Foresters attempted to climb the highest mountain in the UK Ben
Nevis!
The weather was not kind but after a hard climb against the odds
they made it along with Barney the dog and his owner, Area Manager
Tony Estall (Pictured left). Tony raised £300 for the RNLI Train
One Save Many Campaign.
The group (pictured on the summit below)
included International Fraternal President, Bernard Bloom and
Scottish Past Regional President Davie Williamson who said it was
the hardest climb they had taken part in but was worth the effort,
and to get to the top after four hours was wonderful.
Steve Dilworth and Chris Martin from Head Office in Bromley
raised a fantastic £508.05 for the in-house charity Kidscape.
Acorns President Derrick Dowling said: 'Many thanks to all who
contributed and of course to Steve and Chris'.
The group have
raised money for over 15 different charities across the
UK.
