Actuarial Student - Temporary Contract

Cover period – June 2010 for an initial
12 months, with possible extension
Salary range £18,000 - £20,000 pa
Foresters is an international financial
services organisation with over 675,000 members and some £4 billion
of funds under management that has operated in the UK, USA and
Canada for over 135 years. As well as providing financial advice
and products, Foresters staff and members aid communities across
the country by raising funds for charities and local projects and
by helping members who need support.
Our vacancy has arisen in the Actuarial
department. The role involves providing the actuarial needs of the
company, including regulatory reporting, business planning, product
pricing and quotations.
We are looking for an Actuarial student or
mathematically minded person. The main duties include assisting in
the production of month-end information and producing maturity and
annuity quotations for policyholders.
The successful applicant will have an advanced
level mathematical or statistical qualification. Although training
will be given, candidates will also need to be ‘computer literate’,
with knowledge of spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel), word processing
(Microsoft Word) and database (Microsoft Access) packages.
